On Saturday January 21st, the Illinois Wing of the Civil Air Patrol saw Col. Rick Oeth take the reigns as Wing Commander. CAP members from throughout the Great Lakes Region filled the hangar at Wing Headquarters for the ceremony. Col. Oeth thanked all Wing members for their dedication and hard work to CAP.
Also, Lt. Col. Paul Hertel, assumed command of the Legislative Squadron. Hertel, a former Squadron and Group commander, was most recently assigned as ILWG Public Affairs Officer.
Congratulations also go out to Lt Col. Rick Gale as Wing Vice Commander, and to Maj. Eric Templeton, Chief of Staff. Also, former Palwaukee Squadron OPS Officer, Maj. Joe Long, the new Director of Operations.
