Palwaukee Cadets Launch Model Rockets

On Saturday 29 Sept, seven members of the Palwaukee Composite Squadron launched basic and advanced model rockets in pursuit of the Cadet Model Rocketry Award. The launch site was at Busse Woods in Elk Grove Village.

1^st Lt. Dave Gillingham, Aerospace Education Officer and 1^st Lt. Jay Trivedi, assistant Aerospace Education Officer, have both been working with the cadets to build the rockets that were launched and understand the science behind them, organized and ran the event. The conditions were very favorable, with only a slight breeze out of the South to contend with. Safety was the first priority and a very safe event was conducted.

All the basic rocket launches were successful and all rockets were recovered to fly again another day.

The cadets will now move on to more advanced rockets in the next phase of the training curriculum.
